Tournament Host Greg Norman recently announced the final six (6) participants in the 2007 Merrill Lynch Shootout field. Norman's announcement was highlighted by PGA TOUR superstar Steve Stricker, who is currently ranked # 5 in the World Golf Ranking. Stricker's breakout 2007 season included a victory at The Barclays Championship, the FedEx Cup's first playoff event, a second place overall finish in the FedEx Cup playoffs, and a spot on the United States President's Cup team.

The announcement also featured PGA Championship winners Jeff Sluman & Steve Elkington, three-time Shootout champion Scott McCarron, TOUR veteran Scott Hoch, and 2007 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year candidate Anthony Kim. Sluman has also claimed victory twice at the Merrill Lynch Shootout while Elkington is tied for the most Shootout wins with three.

With all twenty-four (24) players confirmed, this year's Merrill Lynch Shootout field is its most impressive yet! This elite group of PGA TOUR professionals boast a resume that includes nine (9) 2007 PGA TOUR wins, fifteen (15) Major Championship victories, six (6) '07 Presidents Cup participants and eight (8) of the top 30 from the FedEx Cup standings.
