THE U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP FANTASY CHALLENGE:

Congratulations to our Fantasy Challenge winner and Franklin Templeton Shootout Volunteer, Beth Craven, whose team collectively won $1,419,829 in prize money. The winning fantasy team included former Franklin Templeton Shootout Champion Davis Love III, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, and Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia who finished the Championship in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Not surprisingly, this year's U.S. Open Champion, Michael Campbell, was not selected by any Fantasy Challenge contestant. Campbell, of New Zealand, who had not survived the weekend in his last four U.S. Open appearances and owned no top-10s in a major since the 1995 British Open at St. Andrews, navigated his golf game beautifully through every treacherous nook and cranny of the Pinehurst No. 2 layout on Sunday. His brilliant 1-under 69 gave him a two-stroke victory over world No. 1 Tiger Woods, making him the first player from his country to secure the U.S. Open title.

The number of entrants for this contest was only exceeded by the exciting weekend at Pinehurst No. 2. Thanks to all those who participated in this fun Fantasy Challenge and we hope that you will keep an eye out for future contests, news and Franklin Templeton Shootout updates over the coming months!

MCCARRON CONTRIBUTES TO CURESEARCH:

JUPITER, Fla. -- Three-time Franklin Templeton Shootout Champion Scott McCarron has generously donated $25,000 to CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation to support lifesaving pediatric cancer research.

In recognition of his on-course performance at the BellSouth Classic, played on the Greg Norman-designed TPC at Sugarloaf, McCarron was recognized as the CRESTOR Charity Challenge winner.

The CRESTOR Charity Challenge, a season-long competition that rewards the tournament leader entering the final round, provided McCarron with the opportunity to support the charity of his choice. As a result of their experiences participating in the Shootout, McCarron and his wife Jennifer selected CureSearch as the recipient of their donation. CureSearch is also the primary charitable beneficiary of the Shootout.

"I am pleased to have the chance to make this contribution to CureSearch," McCarron said. "Over the years, Jennifer and I have been touched by the success stories that are highlighted during Franklin Templeton Shootout week. I hope that this contribution will help to create more stories like those in the future."

"We are touched by the McCarrons' generosity, and their donation will help us support collaborative research to reach the day when every child with cancer can be guaranteed a cure," said Paul T. Burke, President and CEO, CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. "We also are grateful to Greg and Laura Norman for their continuing support of our cause through the Merrill Lynch Shark Shootout and the opportunity they provide us with to share the story of childhood cancer and raise awareness of the No. 1 disease killer of children."

McCarron is the second leading money winner in Shootout history. In 2000 McCarron teamed up with Brad Faxon to win the event and later became the first tandem to successfully defend its Shootout crown. McCarron has competed in every Shootout since 1997 and has made a name for himself as a crowd favorite and great pro-am host.

Each year the Franklin Templeton Shootout helps to raise awareness of childhood cancer and funds for CureSearch.
