The Merrill Lynch Shootout is famous for its Pro-Am experience. |

Generally acknowledged as one of the best on tour, the Merrill Lynch Shootout Pro-Am is exceptional because it takes place over two days, allowing amateurs to play with two different top PGA Tour professionals.
There is a practice round Tuesday, a Pairings Party Tuesday evening and an Awards Dinner Thursday night.
Over the years, notable celebrities such as Matt Lauer, host of the Today Show, CNN's Aaron Brown, Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw, ESPN personality Chris Berman, and Jim Nantz, the voice of CBS Sports, have emceed the Pro-Am parties.
At the Thursday night Awards Dinner, each amateur sits with that day's professional, and each day the professionals and amateurs eat lunch together.
Unlike a regular tour event, at the Merrill Lynch Shootout, the professionals attend all functions, and by the time the Pro-Am is completed, amateurs will have spent a great deal of up-close-and-personal time with the world's best golfers.
